The Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Riverside has a sense of community that spans from our international research-focused societies to our Outreach Efforts at local and national secondary schools and community colleges. This coupling helps all of us remain grounded in our mission to advance engineering and science for the common good.

The Department of Bioengineering is developing relationships with secondary schools and community colleges to help;

• illustrate the exciting opportunities in engineering and science,
• making young people aware that they have what it takes to be engineers and scientists,
• emphasize the importance of education in making future choices in careers,
• and to explain the advantage of obtaining a Bioengineering degree from UCR.
