Adam Witmer, 3rd year Bioengineering Ph.D. candidate has received a 3 year graduate research fellowship from the Tobacco Related Disease Research Program (TRDRP). Adam will use this fellowship to study the effects of cigarette toxins on human embryonic stem cell development via automated computational analysis based on machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques. He works with his PhD supervisor Distinguished Professor Bir Bhanu at the Center for Research in Intelligent Systems at UCR and both of them collaborate with Professor Talbot at UCR Stem Cell Center. Fellowship starts from April 1, 2018.
