Professor Morikis has received a grant of 460,000 Anton2 molecular dynamics simulation units from the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. This award enables graduate student Reed Harrison and Professor Morikis to perform molecular dynamics simulations on an immune system protein in explicit solvation model that consists of 560,000 atoms. Anton2 is the fastest supercomputer built to perform molecular dynamics simulations.
