BIEN 10 2015 Student Projects

December 8, 2015

BIEN 010 provides Bioengineering students exposure to the design, testing, troubleshooting, and iteration process early on in their university instruction. They work within tight resource and budget constraints to make creative solutions to solve meaningful problems in the health, science, and technology fields.

Students work in teams to create, for example, voice-activated 3D printed prosthetics or "smart" 3D-printed steering wheels that can identify (and alert) distracted/impaired drivers using biometrics, on a $150 budget.

Students must learn to program microcontrollers, build circuits, and design in CAD software to progress their project from idea to reality, all within the short span of three months
