Professor William Grover received UCR’s 2018 Junior Faculty Excellence in Teaching (JET) Award in the Celebration of Teaching ceremony that took place at the UC Riverside Alumni and Visitor’s Center on May 22. The award honors junior faculty members “whose early career record demonstrates the commitment and determination of an outstanding teacher while pursuing research excellence.” In presenting Dr. Grover with the award, Dr. Morris Maduro, chair of UC Riverside’s Academy of Distinguished Teachers, commended Dr. Grover for not only his excellence in the classroom but also his role in creating the TEC Center (an on-campus “makerspace” for undergraduate research) and his commitment to helping regional K-12 teachers include engineering content in their classrooms. As part of the award, Dr. Grover received the title of “UC Riverside Junior Faculty Distinguished Teaching Professor.”
